My wishes for you this weekend: May you find the time to relax, play and laugh with your friends and family. May you take some time on Remembrance Day to remember the wars of past and present, and some time to celebrate our peace and freedom.

• Remembrance Day poem or prose - final copy due on Thursday
• Iqbal project (3 parts) due on Friday
  
• Ms. Murphy's math set - practice the math concepts in your review booklet- you will be quizzed next week.

We had a really musical and educational time travelling experience at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra today. I hadn't realized that time travel could be so fun. :)

Homework:

• Study for spelling test tomorrow
• Work on Remembrance Day writing piece (Poems - Max 32 lines, Prose - Max 300 words)
• Give parents the note about French
  
• Watch French DVD
• Work on IQBAL projects
• Read for 20 minutes

We had our Remembrance Day assembly today. We heard from several veterans who shared their stories with us. The grade 4/5 choir also sang two songs for us.

Homework:

• Complete the spelling words wordsearch - due tomorrow
  
• Complete any math set homework
• Work on your Remembrance Day poem or essay - NO PARENT HELP ALLOWED!! The final, typed copies are due on November 13.
  
• Read for 20 minutes

• Iqbal assignment is due on November 14
• Tomorrow we are going to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra - Please arrive in #1 dress!

• Finish editing and rewriting your science paragraph. Remember- no help from parents or siblings! This is a chance for you to edit YOUR OWN work - use your checklist for help.
  
• Complete your "Human Body IMAX" review. We will be editing and typing those up tomorrow.
• Complete math set homework
• Watch or listen to 10 minutes of US election coverage - who will win???

• Tomorrow is our Remembrance Day assembly. Please wear #1 dress and bring $2 for a poppy.
  

Congratulations Max!

Wow! Max de Pfyffer's pumpkin won the carving contest at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Huge congratulations go out to him! As part of his prize, $250 will be donated to the charity of his choice. He has decided to donate the money to Camp Kerry. Check out their website for more information about this great camp. http://www.campkerry.org/

All of the grade fives had a very nice trip to the IMAX today to see "The Human Body" and "Wild Oceans - 3D". Be sure to talk about all the really amazing images that we saw in these two films.

• Complete your science list and paragraph (white sheet) - due Tuesday
• Work on the rough draft (pink sheet) of your "Human Body" IMAX review. We will be working on your good copies on Wednesday. Rough copy due Wednesday.
